Humanforce HR's Compensation Plan feature provides the ability to create Compensation Plans to coordinate and manage remuneration increases within the platform. This article will explain how to create and manage Compensation Plans via Humanforce HR.
Part 1: Create a new compensation plan
Go to Organisation > Compensation Planner.
Click Create Plan.
Enter a unique name in the Plan Name field.
Select a Plan Effective Date - this is the date remuneration data is drawn from.
Note: Future-dated remuneration changes will not be included in the plan if they are after this date.
Click Save and Continue.
Your new compensation plan will be saved and ready for job eligibility configuration.
Part 2: Define job eligibility criteria
Under the Job Eligibility section, define which roles will be included.
Use available filters:
Job Start Date (e.g., exclude recent hires still in probation)
Work Classes
Click Save and Continue.
Only employees matching these criteria will be included in your plan going forward.
Part 3: Set the total budget for your plan
Click Enter Total Budget.
Enter the total amount available for:
Base Annual Increases
Bonuses
Click Continue.
Your budget is now ready to be allocated across Business Units.
Part 4: Allocate budget by Business Unit and assign owners
Assign the full budget to your top-level Business Unit(s).
Note: You cannot over-allocate the budget in this step.
Assign a Budget Owner for each top-level Business Unit.
This person will have access to remuneration details for employees within their assigned business unit, along with all lower level business units attached to this one. This access will override their regular permission settings.
Click Split to divide the budget further across sub-units.
This action is limited to two Business Unit levels.
Assign Budget Owners for each sub-unit as needed.
Budget Owners will automatically gain access to their assigned business unit at this step and have access to all remuneration details for employees in this unit and below it. This access will override their regular permission settings.
Click Allocate Budget.
Click Save.
Budget allocations and ownership are now complete for all configured units.
Part 5: Review your compensation plan
After saving, you'll be redirected to the Compensation Plan Overview page.
View all allocations and assigned owners at a glance.
To drill into a specific Business Unit, click View next to that unit.
The plan is now set up and visible for review. Budget owners can begin their remuneration planning within their assigned scope.
Additional information
You cannot over-allocate funds when assigning budgets. You can overallocate budgets when assigning remuneration and bonus increases.
Job filters only affect eligibility for inclusion in the plan - they do not impact visibility or access.
If you need to change a budget owner after setup, go to the Compensation Plan Overview page.
Users without Admin or Budget Owner roles will not be able to access or edit plans. Contact your HR System Administrator to adjust permissions.
You can export the compensation plan to .csv to assist with bulk updating your remuneration changes.
