As our customer base is increasingly shifting to the Humanforce Cloud experience, we are consolidating our R&D investment to focus on Cloud innovations, so our customers stay at the forefront of workforce management.
Therefore, after Release 4.9, 2nd December 2021, we will branch Humanforce releases into two series of versions:
The new 4.9 series will be for our on-premises customers, that is, customers who host Humanforce on their own infrastructure. We will ensure versions in this series will work with our minimum environment specifications, which were last updated in January, 2021. Post Dec 2021, on-premises customers will not be getting any new releases unless there is a critical security fix that needs to be applied. For any new features or ongoing releases, clients will need to move to HF Cloud as we have now started making breaking changes to the application code that will no longer run for an on-premises client.
The new 5.0 series will be for customers in our Cloud environment. This series will allow us to implement new functionality, security, and performance features as we continue to innovate and develop our solutions.
What does it mean to you?
For our on-premises clients, post-Release 4.9 we will continue to provide you with updates of security, legislation and compliance changes, as well as critical bug fixes. However, to access the latest functionality and new features as well as auto updates, on-premise clients will need to move to our Cloud environment.
For our Cloud customers, there is no change. You will continue to benefit from the fortnightly automatic updates and benefit from a fully managed service with access to all the latest features.
