Performance Report Charts are versatile in their ability to accomodate values that are specific to an organisation. It's a great method of visualising how employees align to the your organisation's ethos.
This article covers:
How to get Custom Values in Your Charts
There are two types of charts that are available in the Performance Report.
Radar Charts:
Performance Over Time Charts:
For more information how to interpret these charts, please read this article.
The values that display in the charts are determined within the Form Fields from which the Performance Metrics pull in the data to the Performance Reports.
There are a number of Form Library Items already configured in your system by default. Values like Accountability, Leadership, Collaboration, and Strategic Thinking are commonly reflected in the Spider Chart
These particular Form Library Items cannot be edited, so if you wish to create new fields with custom values specific to your organisation, you can do so by creating a Rating or Radio Group Form Field.
These will then need to be configured to pull into the performance report via Performance Metric Groups.
For a more in-depth guide on how to do this, please read this article.
How do Value Scales Work?
The charts have a default scale of 5 steps: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%
When designing a Rating / Radio Group, it's recommended to add 5 steps so that this will cleanly parallel the default Percentage Scale numbers.
is equal to exactly 50% on the Radar Chart:
The number of options available in the Rating / Radio group (the labels + values) will not change those Percentages above (0% - 100%) on any of the charts.
However you can customise any amount of steps when creating the form field. The way it calculates on the chart is by averaging out the amount of steps you have added within a framework of 100%
For example if you have 4 steps in a Rating Field, and you select the second value of 50, it will appear on the Radar Chart as 33.3%
