In this article we'll show you how to send a message in the Chat screen in the Work app.
1. Go to the Messages screen in the Work app, and select the "Chat beta" tab. Here, you'll find all your ongoing conversations and the option to start new ones.
2. Select an existing the conversation or start a new one by clicking on the yellow button at the bottom of the screen. You can use the search bar at the top of the screen to search for a person or the content of a message.
3. Search for the name of the person you want to send a message to and click on their name to select.
If you want to send the message to more than one person, search for them and click on their name to select.
5. Click the yellow message button:
6. Type your message in the input field at the bottom of the screen and press Enter to send.
Group messages: note that the message above has more than two recipients, therefore it is considered a group message and any replies are visible to any other members of the message group. (Note that in future releases, there will be a new access level to allow your organisation to set whether you are enable to initiate a group message).
Use the paperclip icon to upload attachments, images and videos. Use the lightening icon to add a gif to a conversation.
- Your organisation can restrict who has the permission to initiate a chat under Admin | Security Config | Access Levels.
Type "stream" in the search field in the Permissions Tab, and check the box "Enable Stream Messaging". -
