Follow this guide to request, edit, or cancel leave in the Humanforce Work or Humanforce (Legacy) mobile app. Leave requests let you notify your manager of time off, and managers can then approve or decline based on business needs.
Part 1: Request leave
- Open the app.
- In the
Work app, tap
Schedule from the bottom menu.
- In the
Legacy app, tap
Calendar from the bottom menu.
- In the
- Start a new leave request
- In the Work app, tap the
Leave icon on the Schedule screen.
- In the Legacy app, tap the
button, then select Leave.
- In the Work app, tap the
- Enter leave details
- Select the Leave Type from the list (e.g. Annual Leave, Sick Leave).
- If enabled, your available balance for the selected leave type will display.
- Choose whether to apply Default hours or set a custom start and end time for partial-day leave.
- Some days may display a warning: No default hours. To proceed, toggle off Default hours and enter custom start and end times.
- In the Legacy app, you may see additional hour options: Default hours, Profile hours, Template hours, Roster hours, or Custom hours.
- Enter the Start Date and End Date for the leave.
- (Optional) Add a Comment or Attachment if needed.
- Select the Leave Type from the list (e.g. Annual Leave, Sick Leave).
- Tap Submit (Work app) or Apply for leave (Legacy app).
- Review your request and tap Yes to confirm.
- Tap Ok to continue.
Your leave request will show in your schedule with a Requested status until it is approved or declined by your manager. Once actioned, you’ll be notified, and the status will update to Approved or Declined.
Part 2: Edit a leave request
You can only edit leave with a Requested status. Approved leave cannot be edited; cancel and resubmit if changes are needed, or ask your manager to update it on your behalf.
- Open the app and go to
Schedule (Work app) or
Calendar (Legacy app).
- Tap the existing leave entry to view details.
- Edit the request:
- In the Work app, tap Edit, update the details, then tap Submit. Tap Yes to confirm, then Ok to continue.
- In the Legacy app, update the details and tap Save. Tap Yes to confirm, then Ok to continue.
You’ll return to the Schedule/Calendar and see the updated request with its status.
Part 3: Cancel a leave request
- Open the app and go to
Schedule (Work app) or
Calendar (Legacy app).
- Tap the existing leave entry to view details.
- Cancel the request:
- In the Work app, tap Cancel. Tap Yes to confirm, then Ok to continue.
- In the Legacy app, tap Cancel leave. Tap Ok to confirm and continue.
The cancellation will be submitted for manager approval. The leave entry will show as Cancellation Requested until your manager approves or declines. Once actioned, you’ll be notified, and the status will update accordingly.
Additional information
- The ability to request, edit, or cancel leave depends on your access permissions. If you can’t see these options, check with your manager or system administrator.
- Leave balances may or may not be visible depending on your organisation’s configuration.
- You may be able to attach a document (e.g. a medical certificate) if enabled by your organisation.
- Managers can view, approve, or decline your requests, and may also update leave on your behalf if needed.
