There are several areas on the intelliHR platform where employee tenure can be viewed. One of the primary areas to view tenure is in several of the analytics and as such the purpose of this article is to simply explain how tenure is calculated for all employees on the platform.
Calculation:
Tenure on the intelliHR platform is based on an employee's Continuous Start Date. The implication of this is that if a previous employee leaves the company for a period of time but is then re-employed their tenure will be based on the first time they started for the company, not including time spent not working at the company.
Examples:
Glenn began with the company on 03/01/2010 and is a current employee.
There have been no gaps in his employment.
His tenure is 11 years.
Lauren began with the company on 03/01/2010 and is a current employee.
However, Lauren left the company to work for another company for a period of 2 years between the dates 03/01/2015 and 03/01/2017 but has since re-joined the business.
Her tenure is 9 years.
Note: If an employee officially leaves the business but is re-hired within 14 days the tenure will calculate from the first company start date.
