Performance report charts are used in Humanforce HR to visualise employee alignment to your organisation’s values and behaviours. These charts are driven by configured form fields and are displayed within performance reports using either Radar charts or Performance over time charts.

How data is sourced for performance report charts
How to include custom values
How value scaling works
This article covers:
Chart types in performance reports
Two types of charts can be used in performance report templates:
Metric Radar (Spider Chart) – Displays multiple performance metrics simultaneously as a radial visualisation.
Metrics Over Time – Plots individual metric changes over a defined period.
These charts are configured using Performance Metric Groups, which aggregate form field data for visual display.
Source of values for performance charts
Chart data is pulled from the Rating and Radio Group form fields. Only these field types are supported. Other field types (e.g. Select, Checkbox group) are not compatible with performance charts.
Default metrics
Some default Form Library Items are pre-configured in your system and may appear in charts automatically. Common examples include Accountability, Leadership, Collaboration, and Strategic Thinking
These default fields:
are included by default in spider charts
cannot be edited
are available for use in any relevant performance report
Custom metrics
To use your own values, you can create a custom Rating or Radio Group form fields. These must be added to a Performance Metric Group to appear in a performance report chart.
Form fields used in metric groups should:
Have clearly labelled steps
Use consistent escalation (e.g. 1–5, or 10–50–100)
Always go from smallest to largest or lowest to highest rating
Once included in a metric group and added to a performance report section, values from these form fields will appear in charts for any employee with a completed form.
Value scaling in charts
All performance report charts operate on a 0–100% scale, regardless of how the form field values are labelled. The system calculates percentage positions based on the number of steps in the field.
How scaling works
Charts use a default 5-step visual scale: 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%
The actual number of steps in a Rating/Radio group is mapped proportionally to that 0–100% range
For example:
A 5-step field where a user selects step 3 = 50%
Value labels
The actual numbers assigned to steps (e.g. 1, 10, 50) do not affect how percentages are calculated. Only the step position matters.
You can use any values (e.g. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50), as long as they follow a consistent sequence. This helps maintain clarity in the visual representation.
Multiple metrics
If multiple form fields are included in the same metric group:
Their values are averaged for the chart display
Charts will show an aggregate visual score per metric group
Additional information
Radar charts provide a snapshot of multiple dimensions at once; performance over time charts show trends.
All values displayed in charts are dependent on completed forms.
Chart sections can be included multiple times in the same report to display different metric groups.
Visibility of charts in performance reports can be restricted via section settings.
