View and manage your Ask AI chat history

Introduction

Ask AI keeps a limited history of your previous conversations so you can pick up where you left off. The chat history sidebar sits alongside the Ask AI page, giving you quick access to your recent chats, a starting point for new ones, and options to rename or delete past conversations.

This guide explains how to open the sidebar and manage your chat history.

Before you start

  • Ask AI is available to customers on the Analytics Pro product tier.
  • You access the chat history sidebar from the Ask AI page in Humanforce Analytics.

Open the chat history sidebar

The sidebar is collapsed by default, so you have the full width of the page for your conversation.

  1. Go to the Ask AI page.

  2. Click the sidebar icon to expand the Ask AI sidebar.

    Your recent chats appear in a list, with the most recent at the top.

  3. Click the sidebar icon again at any time to collapse it.

The sidebar stays collapsed until you choose to expand it.

Revisit a past chat

The sidebar shows up to 30 of your most recent chats.

  1. Expand the Ask AI sidebar.
  2. Select a chat from the list.

The conversation reopens, so you can review previous answers or continue asking follow-up questions.

Start a new chat

You can start a new chat whether the sidebar is collapsed or expanded.

  • If the sidebar is collapsed, click the + button.
  • If the sidebar is expanded, click New chat.

A fresh conversation opens, ready for your first question. The new chat is added to the top of your history once you start asking questions.

Rename a chat

Renaming a chat makes it easier to find later.

  1. Expand the Ask AI sidebar.
  2. Hover over the chat you want to rename.
  3. Click the actions icon (⋯) next to the chat.
  4. Select Rename.
  5. Enter a new name for the chat, then press Enter to save.

The chat appears in the list with its new name.

Delete a chat

Deleting a chat removes the conversation permanently.

  1. Expand the Ask AI sidebar.
  2. Hover over the chat you want to delete.
  3. Click the actions icon (⋯) next to the chat.
  4. Select Delete.
  5. On the confirmation, click Delete to remove the chat, or Cancel to keep it.

The chat is removed from your history.

Additional information

  • The sidebar lists up to 30 of your most recent chats. Older conversations beyond this number are not shown in the list.
  • Your chat history is specific to you. Other users do not see your conversations.
  • Deleting a chat is permanent and cannot be undone.
