Overview
Shift bidding allows you to express interest in working unfilled shifts or exchange your current shifts for preferred ones. You will only view shifts for roles assigned to you in the locations and departments where you work. Additionally, you will only see shifts for which you meet any mandatory qualifications.
Please note that submitting a bid does not guarantee that the shift will be offered to you. After receiving a bid, a Roster Manager will review all bids and may assign/offer the shift to you or other employees. If the shift is assigned to you, you will see this within your roster. However, if you are offered the shift, it will appear as an "Offered" shift on the Shift Bidding page. At this point, you will need to confirm or decline the shift.
This guide will walk you through the process of accessing, bidding on, and managing shifts using the Shift Bidding feature in Humanforce WFM.
Accessing Shift Bidding
- Log in to your Humanforce account
- Navigate to Employee > Shift Bidding
Note: Access to Shift Bidding is permission-based. If you can't see this option, contact your manager.
Understanding the Shift Bidding Page
The Shift Bidding page displays:
- Days with available shifts
- Your confirmed shifts
- Shifts you've bid on
- Shifts offered to you
Shift Statuses:
- Open: Available for bidding
- Submitted: You've bid on these shifts
- Offered: Manager has offered you these shifts
- Confirmed: Your scheduled shifts
Shift Exchanges
If you see a blue exchange icon () next to an open shift, it means you can bid to exchange your current shift for this one.
Note: Exchanging shifts requires specific permissions.
Submitting a Shift Bid
- Click on a date to expand shift details
- Select the checkbox next to the shift(s) you want
- Click "Submit Bid"
- Review the confirmation pop-up and click "Confirm"
Tip: You can bid on multiple shifts across different days in one submission.
Managing Your Bids
Remember to regularly check your Home page and notifications for updates on your shift bids and offers.
To withdraw a bid:
- Find the shift with "Submitted" status
- Click the Actions menu (⋮)
- Select "Withdraw"
- Confirm your action
To confirm an offered shift:
- Locate the shift with "Offered" status
- Click the Actions menu (⋮)
- Select "Confirm"
To decline an offered shift:
- Find the shift with "Offered" status
- Click the Actions menu (⋮)
- Select "Decline"
- Confirm your action
Customising Your View
Apply Filters:
- Click the Filter () icon at the top of the page
- Select from options like Hours, Location, Department, Role, and Status
Customise Table Columns:
- Click the Table Settings () icon
- Select or deselect columns to show/hide
Troubleshooting
If you can't see shifts on the Shift Bidding page, ensure:
- The shifts are published by your manager
- You meet the shifts LDR and any mandatory qualifications
- The shifts haven't already been accepted by others
- You have the necessary permissions for exchange shifts
