Within the platform, permissions between supervisor and their direct reports control what a user can see or do on a particular employee’s profile. Some businesses may require a shared reporting line where two or more managers share reporting responsibilities over employees.

Scenario for Delegated Access for Shared Reporting Lines
In the scenario that:
Shared reporting lines where two or more managers share reporting responsibilities over employees.
Example:
Ben, Chelsea and Dimitrij manage Yan and Emily on rotating shifts. They need access to each other's firect report's diary notes, training records, personal contact information, medical conditions and emergency contacts.
1. Map out who needs access to which person/group of people
For the example above we need to set up 6 sets of delegate access (2 per person)
2. What permissions are needed for this delegated access?
Create, Edit and View Diary Notes for Subordinates
- people.diary_notes.create/edit/view#subordinates
Create Edit and View Training Records for Subordinates
- people.training.create/edit/view#subordinates
View Personal Email and Phone Numbers
- people.email_addresses.personal.view#subordinates
- people.phone_numbers.personal.view#subordinates
View Medical Conditions for Subordinates
- people.medical_conditions.view#subordinates
View Emergency Contacts for Subordinates
- people.emergency_contact_details.view#subordinates
3. Set up a permission group with these permissions enabled
4. Set up Delegated Access
- Navigate to Settings >> Delegated Access
- Click Create New Delegated Access
Select the permission group we created in Step 4
5. How will we know that delegated access is set up correctly?
- To determine that delegated access is set up correctly, we will need to ask Ben,
Chelsea or Dimitrij to log in and view each other's direct reports - Can they action and view all of the things we outlined above?
