Within the platform, permissions between supervisor and their direct reports control what a user can see or do on a particular employee’s profile. Some businesses may require more than one person to have certain permissions in relation to an employee. intelliHR supports this through delegated access; allowing managers to have visibility over teams with either the same access as their current supervisor or modified access.
This article covers:
Examples of Delegated Access may include
- Multiple teams that work on a rotating roster, with a different supervisor at different times
- Shared reporting lines where two managers share some reporting responsibilities over employees
- An administrative person who needs to perform specific actions within the platform for groups of employees that are not their direct reports.
The platform can replicate the reporting lines of one supervisor onto the user account of another employee through Delegate Permissions. When doing this, it is possible to assign permissions that the original manager has or does not have, based on what actions the recipient of the permissions needs to do.
For example, you may wish to have one supervisor able to create Diary Notes on the profiles of another supervisors’ team. This would be a matter of assigning delegated access and then selecting the permission group you wish them to have for the other person’s subordinates.
Alternatively, you may wish to assign additional permissions to someone. For example, you may want one person to be able to create training for another supervisors’ team, even though the supervisor themselves does not have that ability. You would assign delegated access and then again, select the relevant permission group.

(More than one person can be selected to have this level of access to the reports of the manager selected above)
7. Select the Permission Group you with the targeted user to have when viewing the direct reports of the first manager; for example, this may be a permission group that only provides access to diary notes.
