Follow this guide to finalise an employee’s return date and employment details in Humanforce HR when they are on Extended Leave. This helps keep leave records up to date and ensures accurate organisational reporting.
Part 1: Review employees on extended leave
Go to People > Extended Leave.
Review the list of employees currently on extended leave.
Locate the employee whose return you want to finalise.
Part 2: Finalise the return date and FTE
Select Finalise Return beside the employee’s name.
Confirm the employee’s Return date.
Update the employee’s FTE (full-time equivalent) value if it has changed.
Click Save.
When saved, a 'Return from Extended Leave' workflow will automatically be triggered.
Part 3: Complete or skip the workflow
Review the workflow that appears.
Update any relevant fields, such as respondent or send date.
Select Apply to send the workflow, or Skip if no further action is needed.
You’ll see a confirmation that the return from leave has been processed. The employee’s record will reflect their return date and updated details.
Additional information
You should check the Extended Leave section regularly to maintain accurate leave tracking.
If the returning employee has direct reports, you will need to update the supervisor on each direct report's Job.
Workflows can be customised by your organisation. If you're unsure which fields are required, speak with your HR system administrator.

If you don’t see the Finalise return option or can't complete the workflow, contact your system administrator to check your access.
