Where can I view skills at an organisational level?
Each employee will have a skills tab on their profile where they can add (permissions dependant) skills to their own profile. These skills will also be recorded on the employee's profile tab so that these ensure visibility for both the employee and their manager. However, to view this at an organisational level a system administrator (or anyone with Analytics Access for Skills) can navigate to: Analytics >> Discover >> Skills
How does this information help me?
1. Identify where certain skills are located across the business.
The primary chart displayed in the skills analytics provides visibility over those skills you have deemed to be business-critical and the count of employees with that particular skill further separated into proficiency levels.
The chart will assist you to identify where particular skills are concentrated in the business. This may provide confirmation that certain skills are held by individuals who are in specific business units or locations. It also has the ability to highlight where there is a lack of skills in a particular area that may require upskilling. Using the cross-filters such as pay grade, department or supervisors these analytics give you the tools needed to drill down into where skills are located across the business.
2. Review how skills are growing over time, putting the business in a stronger position to adapt to changes.
Using the skills gained and lost chart the platform will display the growth or in some case decline in skills across the business. In addition, to the count of skills gained or lost this is also segmented into the skill levels that have been lost also i.e. Expert, Proficient, Basic allowing you to see if you are losing the in-depth knowledge held by expert practitioners.
3.Identify where skills are being gained and where they are being lost, crucial to your workforce planning.
By changing the date in the top-right corner on the analytics page you can also look into the future to get a picture of the skills that will be lost over the coming months as those that have an upcoming leave date will be included in the Analytics to help visualise the skills that will require replacing. using the cross filter will also allow a more in-depth look at which departments those skills are being lost from so that you can pro-actively look to increase the skill base of the organisation, prioritising these goals according to their value to the business goals.
