Payroo is an automated payroll compliance engine. Payroo enables payroll teams create pay runs with custom pay rates, flexible pay schedules, earnings, deductions, allowances, leaves, automatic tax and super rates. Payroo is loved and used by over a thousand Australian businesses.
Payroo has built a native integration that is available for users of Payroo and intelliHR. The integration takes new hires in intelliHR and sends them to Payroo. This integration also sends any updates made to a persons record both ways between the two systems.

What will it do?
✅ When a new hire (person and job) is created in intelliHR, a new user will be automatically created in Payroo. The person's primary job will be pushed through to Payroo.
✅ When a new user is created in Payroo, a new person will be created in intelliHR, with only the information that is available and captured in Payroo. The rest will need to be completed manually in intelliHR.
✅ When a person is updated in intelliHR, the associated user in Payroo will be updated accordingly with the new information.
✅ When a user is updated in Payroo, the associated person in intelliHR will be updated accordingly with the new information.
Common Considerations
- Job terminations in intelliHR do not sync through to Payroo and vice versa at this point in time. This is because the process for Payroll terminations differs significantly to what is required in intelliHR.
- Updates to pay information (represented in the Pay Rates tab on Payroo) do not update automatically when there is a change in intelliHR. They must be refreshed manually by clicking the "Sync" button in the Features > HR settings area to bring across these updates from intelliHR.

The remaining fields in the Taxes area on Payroo will need to be completed manually in Payroo for the time being. (Such as Tax File Number, Residency Status and Income Stream Type). Connection & Set-up
The native integration is hosted by Payroo and therefore can be switched on and off directly on your existing Payroo tenant. As long as you have an active account with both intelliHR and Payroo this integration is free of any set up or usage fees.
To get started, simply head to Features on your main menu panel, and then select HR from the tabs across the top of the page. Once here, intelliHR should present itself as an option as an integration that you can connect.
Once you click Connect, the Payroo system will request you to input your:
- Tenant Name/URL: This is simply your full intelliHR tenant URL. E.g. https://company.intellihr.net
- API Access Key: This can only be retrieved by someone with System Administrator permissions in the intelliHR environment. The system administrator must navigate to Settings > Public API Access Keys. From here a new Access Key can be created for the connection to Payroo. Once the above details are entered, and if the connection has been set up successfully the below confirmation message should appear.
You can return to this area in Payroo at any point in time to Disconnect the integration.
