Follow this guide to control who can see dashboard action tiles in Humanforce HR.
Dashboard action tiles appear on the home screen and can be customised to suit your organisation. By setting visibility rules, you can ensure each user group (for example, managers or specific business units) only sees the tiles relevant to them.
Steps
- On the dashboard, select Manage dashboard actions.
- Click Create Dashboard Action to add a new tile, or select an existing tile to edit.
- Navigate to the Visibility section.
- Select one of the following options:
- Everyone
The tile is visible to all employees once published. - Filtered
The tile is only visible to employees who match selected criteria such as Business Entities, Locations, Business Units, Pay Grades.- One of the most common filtered actions is to make a tile only visible to managers. To achieve this, select: Filtered > People (Change) > Select "Only Include People with Direct Reports" > Save
- Hidden
The tile is not visible on the dashboard. Users can still access it via a direct URL if shared with them directly via a form or an event notification.
- Everyone
- Click Save or Create to apply your changes. The tile visibility updates immediately based on your selected rules.
Additional information
- Permission groups can help you efficiently segment employees and manage visibility at scale.
- A common use case is restricting tiles to managers by filtering for employees with direct reports.
- Hidden tiles can still be used in workflows, such as linking them in forms or event notifications.
- Consider reviewing tile visibility regularly to ensure the dashboard remains relevant and uncluttered for users.
Users with limited access may not be able to create or edit dashboard action tiles. Contact your administrator if you cannot access these settings.
