Follow this guide to create, edit, and reorder Dashboard Action Tiles on your Humanforce HR home screen, so you can customise the links and processes available to your employees.
Dashboard Action Tiles let you add shortcuts to your home screen that either link employees to external systems (such as payroll or your intranet) or prompt them to complete a form-based process (such as incident reporting or training requests).
Part 1: Create a new Dashboard Action Tile
- Navigate to your Dashboard.
- Select Manage dashboard actions.
- Select Create Dashboard Action.
- Choose what should happen when a user selects this action:
- Prompted to fill in a form
- Prompted to request form completion from another employee
- Directed to a URL
- If you selected one of the two form options:
- Select the form or forms you want to make available through the tile.
- Choose who the form will be about.
- Enter a title, description, and icon for the tile.
- Select Next.
- Set the visibility of the tile. To learn more, see Control dashboard action tile visibility in Humanforce HR. The options are:
- Everyone - The tile is visible to all employees once published.
- Filtered - The tile is only visible to employees who match selected criteria.
- Hidden - The tile is not visible on the dashboard. Users can still access it via a direct URL if shared with them directly, such as via a form or an event notification.
- Select Create.
Your new tile will appear on the Dashboard. Employees who match the visibility settings will see the tile the next time they visit their home screen.
Part 2: Edit a Dashboard Action Tile
- Navigate to your Dashboard.
- Select Manage dashboard actions on the right-hand side of your screen. You will be taken to the Dashboard Actions page in Settings.
- Click the three-dot menu next to the tile you want to change.
- Select Edit.
- Update the tile's behaviour (attached form or destination URL), appearance (name, description, or icon), or visibility settings as needed.
Your changes take effect immediately. Employees will see the updated tile on their next visit to the Dashboard.
Part 3: Reorder Dashboard Action Tiles
- Navigate to your Dashboard.
- Select Manage dashboard actions.
- Drag and drop tiles into your preferred order by selecting the tile handle on the left-hand side.
The new tile order will be reflected on the Dashboard straight away.
Additional information
- Use filtered visibility to tailor tiles for specific groups, such as managers or locations.
- Keep the number of tiles manageable to maintain a clean and focused dashboard experience.
- Hidden tiles can still support workflows when shared via direct links in forms or notifications.
- Review tiles regularly to ensure they remain relevant to your organisation’s processes.
Users with limited permissions may not be able to create or manage dashboard action tiles. Contact your administrator if access is restricted.
