The Award Interpretation is a vital part of your implementation and providing all of the information about how you pay is crucial in achieving live pay runs as quickly as possible during your implementation. The award data collection spreadsheet is designed to prompt you for providing the pay rules, as you pay them, for your awards. Each award is created in a separate worksheet defining the pay rules for normal time, Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays as well as information on breaks and when overtime is triggered.
An Award Profile in Humanforce defines a set of rules which you can allocate to a role for an employee. The award profile does not necessarily correspond directly with the award itself. An example here is that the Hospitality Industry General Award 2010 (HIGA) is one award, but may be broken down into HIGA Full Time, HIGA Part Time, HIGA Casual for the award profile configuration.
When completing the award data collection spreadsheet, consider the normal pay rules of the award as you pay them, but also note any group or individual employee exceptions to these rules as these will require special handling, or possibly separate awards configured in Humanforce.
Providing as much detail as possible during the Planning phase will reduce the amount of rework during testing and parallel runs.
The following are a list of key concepts that are included in the Award Data Collection spreadsheet.
