In version 5.0.5, we have added an option to include paid breaks into rosters. If enabled, this is in addition to the existing break fields. If not enabled, there is no change to how the breaks in Humanforce currently work.
To determine if this option is right for your organisation, there are a few things you should note before turning this functionality on:
- Rostered paid breaks are transferred as entered directly to Timesheets. The break can then be edited on the timesheet, if needed.
- Because of this, employees should NOT clock rostered paid breaks. Once a break is clocked it will use the unpaid break fields and configuration in Clock-In Settings to determine how the break will go into the timesheet.
Enabling
On Admin > System Settings > Roster / Roster Templates, tick the box to Enable rostering paid breaks:
Rosters
This adds a second set of fields on the shift in both the Employee and Department rosters as well as renames the previous break fields to indicate "Unpaid."
If you have selected to show break length on the rosters, this will show on the roster details after saving:
Reporting
The new paid break fields have been added to the Workforce Analytics data source for Rosters:
As well as the paid break length is available in the Timesheets data source. This is available even without turning on paid breaks in rosters.
