Overview
This page details the steps required to create a dedicated Humanforce sFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) folder that can be used to schedule imports. You can learn more about scheduling imports on the How do I schedule a File Import? page.
How do I know if the sFTP is already setup?
Below are 2 screenshots of the file import setup screen, on the left "HumanforceSFTP import" is greyed out and read only whilst on the right side it has blue text and is clickable.
If the grey text is shown then this means the Humanforce sFTP folder has not been configured for your instance and so the steps in the next section will need to be followed to complete the setup.
If the blue text is shown then this means the Humanforce sFTP folder has already been configured and is ready for use, if you require any assistance regarding using the sfTP folder then please log a ticket on Humanforce Help so that a member of our Support Team can assist you with your query.
Steps (for existing customers)
- Create your private key and public key set as per the sFTP Security Requirements page.
- Submit a new support ticket (via https://help.humanforce.com/requests/new) including:

- Public Key (that you have generated as per step 1. NB: Do not send your private key.
- IP Address(s) that will be accessing the sFTP folder.
- Ask for the ticket to be assigned to the 'Technical IT' team for action.
- Your sFTP account will then take some time to be provisioned. Once completed, your login credentials will be shared with you.
