Template Manager lets you create reusable shift patterns that can be applied to future roster periods, improving speed, accuracy, and consistency when building rosters. It has been designed for workforce planners and managers who want to reduce manual roster building, manage predictable scheduling needs, and ensure shift patterns align with business requirements.
Templates can be used to build schedules from scratch or applied to existing rosters to fill in expected patterns, helping teams plan ahead and scale efficiently across periods and locations.
Capabilities
Access and setup
Control who can access Template Manager, and manage user permissions for editing, importing, and generating templates. These permissions ensure only authorised users can modify shift patterns or use them in live rosters.
Build and generate templates
Create new templates, copy or edit existing ones, or generate live rosters directly from a template. Templates can be created for standard, rotating, or master scheduling needs.
Customise your view
Group and filter shifts by key fields, such as location, department, or role. Configure how shift details appear on each tile so that your templates are easy to navigate and edit.
Manage shifts within a template
Add, update, delete, or assign employees to individual shifts directly in Template Manager. Templates support shift alerts and validations to ensure your patterns are accurate and compliant.
Manage shifts in bulk
Apply actions to multiple shifts at once, including bulk add, confirm, unassign, recost, and delete. This is ideal when building large templates or reworking a standard pattern.
Monitor and resolve shift alerts
Visual alerts highlight potential issues like scheduling conflicts, missing qualifications, or unavailable employees. Alerts must be resolved for shifts to be valid for import or generation.
Additional resources
Templates can also be created and applied directly from within Roster Manager:
