Solution Attempt: Disable "Location access" in your Kiosk's Browser Settings
There are a few reasons your kiosk might show the Start Work button 'greyed out' or faded after an employee has logged in.
Chrome v143 (released and rolled out from November, 2025) and later versions can create a problem for kiosks that doesn't go away on device reset, or reinstallation, reregistration, which is the "Start Work" button appears pale, grey and is unresponsive
(compared to its normal green, the Start Work button is pale or grey.) This can present with other inconvenient symptoms, like temporary slowness and unresponsive buttons.
The newest Chrome versions enforce Location checking, so if your system uses Geo-fencing, both the Chrome browser and Humanforce's access to the Google Maps API will cause each other to time out.
Here's a fix to try:
- on the kiosk, go to chrome://settings/content/location (pictured)
- Select "Don't allow sites to see your location"
