Why this article?
Originally, the onboarding feature of Humanforce was been created for use in Australia. There is a TFN section, a Superannuation section and a lot of the wording is specifically tailored to Australian use.
We can however make little adjustments so it fits New Zealand onboarding perfectly.
This article will guide you through tailoring the onboarding module to give New Zealand clients a smooth experience when using onboarding on the mobile app.
Remove TFN and Super sections from the Mobile App.
Neither of these sections can be configured to work for New Zealand clients as IRD and/or Kiwisaver sections, we can however easily remove them from the onboarding process.
If you want to collect IRD and/or Kiwisaver information, you can still add the required documents to complete/sign via the Onboarding documents templates in the ADMIN section (.rtf and .pdf files only) |
Do this under ADMIN - SYSTEM Settings:
Scroll all the way to the right to find the Mobile App tab and make sure to untick:
- Enable collection of superannuation info in onboarding
- Enable collection of TFN declaration in onboarding
Then hit SAVE.
Your new onboarding screen will look like this now. Both the TFN and Super parts have gone. |
Localisation
A lot of the wording is particularly aimed at Australian clients and can create confusion:
- Personal Details (screen 1) :
- State
- Country automatically is set to Australia (sorry, can't change that)
- Mobile number doesn't state but needs a country code added. Without, you will be thrown an error when saving the new employees details under Employee Change Approvals (eg +64 27 4585 125)
- Bank Account (screen 2) :
- Some of the fields mentioned here are not in use for kiwi's (BSB code, Bank State)

Currently there is no article on Help about localisation but you can rename any of the fields on HF Web or the Mobile App under ADMIN - LOCALISATION
- In the 'Invariant Text' search box, type in the exact (partial) wording of the current field.
- You may find multiple options. In the Key-field you can find what field you are looking for
- err - an error message
- lbl - a label
- msg - a pop-up message
- btn - a button
- etc.
- Click the EDIT button and change the wording to whatever you want the field to say in the 'Override Text' field, then SAVE.
- Example:
Mobile phone number issues - Mobile App vs HF Web - that can be resolved by localisation
If an employee is not prompted to add a country code to their Mobile number field and a manager approves the changes, following error pops up:
Options :
- A manager needs to manually add a country code (this is the field used to send the sms after approval/acceptance of all onboarding data).
- We can avoid this pop-up by localising the Mobile number field to add the country code (see above).
- If this did not work, we want the pop-up to show +64 and not +61. Again localisation is the answer.
This will make your onboarding process completely kiwi.
