The platform can help you record and manage the people who are employed on a contractual basis. A contractor is a person that undertakes a specific contract to provide a service or certain materials to complete a job.

How to Create a Contractor
1. Navigate to People and select Onboarding - Set up a new employee
2. Enter the employee's personal details. To create a person you will need to enter a Last Name and a unique email, any other fields can be added at a later stage if required (please see the Initiating Onboarding article for more information about this step).
3. Click Continue to Create Job - you will then be prompted to fill in the relevant job information (i.e. position title, reporting lines, position arrangements, recruitment and remuneration).
4. When entering Position Arrangements, you will have the option to select either Fixed Contract or Independent Contract as the Work Type. You will then be able to select the relevant work class (i.e. Fixed-Term Part-Time or Fixed-Term Full-Time/ Independent Contractor).
5. Click Create once all relevant job details have been entered.
6. You will then be prompted to schedule a workflow and assign Mandatory Requirements if necessary.
How to Convert a Contractor to Permanent
1. Navigate to the Jobs tab for the relevant employee.
2. Click on the Job Actions >> Remove Expected Company End Date.
3. Once the end date has been removed; click Update Job.
4. Enter the Effective From date for when this update will take place (this can either be a date in the past or future). You will also have the option to set an Effective To date if the update is only for a set period of time.
5. Select which attributes of the job are to be updated (i.e. Work Type/ Class). You can select multiple attributes to be updated.
6. Click Next.
7. Enter in the new information and click Next. You will then be prompted to review and confirm the changes made.
8. Once you have clicked Confirm, you will have the option to Schedule or Skip the relevant workflow. By default the "Changing Job" will workflow will display. You can amend the dates, forms sent and recipients if necessary.
How to Convert an Employee to a Contractor
1. Navigate to the relevant employee's profile and click on their Jobs tab.
2. Click on Update Job.
3. Enter the Effective From date for when this update will take place (this can either be a date in the past or future). You will also have the option to set an Effective To date if the update is only for a set period of time.
