Chat in Humanforce WFM enhances internal communication by enabling one-to-one and group messaging across teams and locations. It’s designed for managers and employees using the Humanforce Work app and Humanforce web, helping teams collaborate efficiently without external tools.
Capabilities
One-to-one and group messaging
Chat lets you start private conversations or group threads from either the Work app or Humanforce web.
Messages stay synced across platforms so you can pick up conversations anywhere.
- Work app: Go to Messages > Chat beta or start a chat directly from a shift, leave, or availability record.
- Humanforce web: Go to Employee > Messages > Chat (New).
For detailed instructions, see Create and manage chats in the Humanforce Work app
Targeted messaging with filters (Humanforce WFM only)
Narrow your audience using filters by region, location, department, role, or pay company.
This ensures your messages reach relevant employees without unnecessary noise.
Access and permissions
Chat access is managed through Access Level permissions in Humanforce WFM.
You can control who can:
- Start or reply to messages
- Chat across departments or locations
- Message users at different authorisation levels
For setup guidance, see Set up Chat Messaging in WFM and Work app
Contextual chat access
In the Work app, you can start a chat directly from relevant screens:
- Messages: Tap Messages > Chat beta to create or continue conversations.
-
Schedule: Initiate chats from shift, leave, or availability records.
The chat window includes key context from the record, such as dates and shift details.
Rich messaging tools
Enhance communication with modern chat features:
- Emojis, GIFs, and reactions
- Image and video sharing
- Document and PDF attachments
- Hyperlinks with preview snippets
All participants can view and reply within shared chat threads on both web and mobile.
Stay on top of unread messages
Unread message counters show active conversations that need attention.
You can see unread chats in the Chat list or on the Chat beta tab in the Work app.
Setup and configuration
To enable Chat for your organisation and configure access levels, follow the setup instructions in Set up Chat Messaging in WFM and Work app
