Follow this guide to configure access levels and navigation options for the Daily Authorisation view in Humanforce WFM, so users can review and authorise timesheets based on their role.
If you're familiar with the legacy Daily Authorisation or Period Authorisation pages, note that these were deprecated in October 2023. This new setup provides filtered access to the Timesheet Admin screen — it is not a return of the old Daily Authorisation module. For more context, see: End of Life Notice: Daily Authorisation and Period Authorisation
Part 1: Set access to the Daily Authorisation view
Permissions for Timesheet Authorisation determine what date ranges and screens users can access. Configure the appropriate level for each user group:
Option 1: View today’s timesheets only (no navigation)
This is ideal for supervisors who only need to authorise timesheets for the current day of their shift.
- Go to Admin > Security Config > Access Levels.
- Click Edit on the relevant Access Level.
- Select the Permissions tab.
- Search for Timesheet Authorisation.
- Tick View Timesheet Authorisation Page.
- Ensure Allow daily view navigation is not ticked.
- Click
Apply Changes.
Users can view and authorise timesheets for today only, with no option to move to other dates.
Option 2: Daily navigation (one day at a time)
This is ideal for managers who need to authorise timesheets daily, but across multiple dates.
- Go to Admin > Security Config > Access Levels.
- Click Edit on the relevant Access Level.
- Select the Permissions tab.
- Search for Timesheet Authorisation.
- Tick View Timesheet Authorisation Page.
- Tick Allow daily view navigation (Daily Authorisation).
- Ensure Allow date range navigation (Period Authorisation) is not ticked.
- Click
Apply Changes.
Users can use the calendar and arrows to view one date at a time across the Daily Authorisation page.
Option 3: Full date range access (including Timesheets page)
This is ideal for senior managers or payroll teams who need to review full pay periods across both the Daily Authorisation and Timesheets pages.
- Go to Admin > Security Config > Access Levels.
- Click Edit on the relevant Access Level.
- Select the Permissions tab.
- Search for Timesheet Authorisation.
- Tick all three options:
- View Timesheet Authorisation Page
- Allow daily view navigation (Daily Authorisation)
- Allow date range navigation (Period Authorisation)
- Click
Apply Changes.
Users will have access to both the Daily Authorisation page with day-to-day navigation and the full Timesheets page with custom date ranges.
Part 2: Access and use the Daily Authorisation view
Once permissions are configured, users can access the Daily Authorisation screen as follows:
- Go to Management > Timesheets > Daily Authorisation.
- The screen will open filtered to today’s date.
- Depending on access:
- No navigation: Users can only view today’s records.
-
Daily navigation: Users can change the date via:
- The previous/next arrows
- The calendar icon to select a specific day
If the menu item is not visible, ensure the screen is enabled for the user’s role in Admin > Admin Config > Nav Manager.
