Follow this guide to enable Single Sign-On (SSO) access from Humanforce WFM to Humanforce Payroll.
This setup allows you to securely open Payroll directly from WFM after payrun processing, without re-entering your login credentials.
You must have the correct admin permissions in both systems to complete this task. If you're unsure, contact your system administrator.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure:
- Your Humanforce WFM ↔ Payroll integration is already connected.
- You have access to Admin > Admin Config > System Settings in WFM.
- The user account exists in both WFM and Payroll.
- The same name and email are recorded for the employee in both systems.
Part 1: Confirm the Payroll Customer Code is saved in WFM
The Payroll Customer Code links WFM to the correct Payroll environment for authentication.
- In Humanforce WFM, go to Admin > Admin Config > System Settings - General.
- Locate Humanforce Payroll Customer Code.
- Confirm the code is entered. This value is usually set when the Payroll integration is configured.
- If the field is blank, you can find the code in your Humanforce Payroll URL.
It appears after .com/ and before /Customer.- Example:
https://www.process-pay.com/HFdemo/Customer/Home/List
In this example, the customer code is HFdemo.
- Example:
- Scroll to the bottom and select Save changes.
The Humanforce Payroll Customer Code field shows your active Payroll tenant code (for example, HFdemo).
Part 2: Verify user details match between WFM and Payroll
For SSO to work, the logged-in WFM user must have matching details in Payroll.
- In WFM, go to Management > Employee > Employee Management
- Open your profile, and note your Secondary email address, First name, and Last name.
- Log in to Humanforce Payroll, then go to People > Employees > Personal details.
- Check that the same values are used for your account in Payroll.
| Humanforce WFM | Humanforce Payroll |
|---|---|
| Primary / Secondary email address | Work / Private Email |
| First name | First name |
| Last name | Last name |
The user details in WFM and Payroll are identical, including spacing and capitalisation.
Part 3: Test the SSO connection
- In Humanforce WFM, go to Management > Timesheets > Payroll.
- Select and open a Pay Run.
- Select Review in Payroll in the top-right corner.
If the setup is correct, Payroll opens in a new browser tab without prompting for login credentials.
Additional information
- The Review in Payroll button appears only after Payroll integration is enabled in WFM.
- If SSO fails:
- Check that the Payroll Customer Code is correct in System Settings.
- Verify the user’s name and email match exactly in both systems.
- If issues continue, contact Humanforce Support for help.
