Follow this guide to identify, understand, and resolve shift alerts in Roster Manager using visual indicators on the roster and the Alerts panel. This helps ensure rostered shifts meet compliance and business rules defined in your Clock in Settings.
Alerts must be configured and active in your system to enable this functionality. See Configure roster alerts in Clock-in Settings.
Part 1: Recognise alerts on shift tiles
Shift alerts appear as coloured tiles on the roster, helping you quickly spot errors or warnings.
-
Red shift tile: Indicates a shift error
that must be corrected before publishing.
-
Yellow shift tile: Indicates a shift warning
that should be reviewed, but does not block publishing.
- Hover over the alert icon
to view a short alert message.
- Double-click the shift tile to open the shift and view full alert details in the header.
Shift errors prevent publishing or applying Read-Only status until resolved.
Part 2: Use the Alerts panel to review issues
The Alerts panel provides a consolidated view of all current alerts for your visible roster period.
- Look for the red badge
on the alert icon in the top-right of Roster Manager.
- Click the alert icon
to open the panel.
- Use the filter dropdown
to narrow the view by alert type (e.g. Working Hours, Qualifications).
- Click the arrow
beside each alert to expand and view full details.
- For multi-shift alerts (e.g. overlapping shifts), the panel will show a list of affected shifts with direct links.
If no badge appears, there are no alerts within your filtered view. Try clicking Reset Roster Filters to ensure you're seeing the full roster.
Part 3: Resolve alert issues
To address a shift alert, open the affected shift via the tile or alert panel:
- Double-click the shift tile or alert link to open the shift.
- Review the alert message in the shift header.
- Make the necessary changes (e.g. shift time, employee, role).
- Click Save.
Once corrected, the alert is removed from the shift and the Alerts panel.
