Starting in version 4.8.28, you can choose to require employees to review their unread chats before clocking in on a Humanforce web kiosk. This can be used to make sure employees are seeing key information such as handover notes from the previous shift before beginning their own shift.
Note: This option will only show employees messages sent through the Chat option. It does
not include any Notifications. It will also only show unread messages, so if the employee
has read their chats through other means (such as the mobile app), they will not be shown
the same messages again.
Set Up
1. To enable the chats to pop-up, go to Admin > Location Settings.
2. Select the location whose kiosk you would like to include this option. Alternatively, if all your locations are configured using the Defaults, you could update the <<DEFAULTS>> settings.
3. Under the Clock Ins section, tick the box for Enable message screen prompt on clocking.
4. Make sure you click the button at the top to Apply Changes.
Kiosk Experience
If someone logs in at a kiosk location with this option enabled, a pop-up will appear with their message(s).
The employee will need to click Acknowledge Message for any messages they've received. Once all messages have been acknowledged, the employee will be able to Start Work.
The employee can choose to close the message window with the X (without clicking Next Message), if they need to utilise other features on the kiosk besides clocking in. However, if they click the Start Work button, the employee will receive a pop-up asking them to finish reading all messages first, and they will be returned to the message pop-up.
Note: This only works when clocking in using kiosk-mode.
