Humanforce has several available methods to allow employees to clock in for a shift. This article details the choices your company has.
Kiosk
Finger Vein Scanner
Using infrared light, vein scanning is a fast, non-invasive and safe method of verifying personnel. Near-infrared light is projected onto the finger where a vein pattern is captured. This is stored securely as a 1,146 digit, alpha-numeric sequence.
Vein patterns are more unique than a fingerprint and don’t require fingers to be clean or dry. The scanners are small and connect to tablets and kiosks by USB, making them portable across different locations in your business.
A manager will need to initially register the employee.
Face Recognition
Smart facial recognition clocking is quick and foolproof. Using a three-photo capture and state-of-the-art recognition server, any device with a camera can be used to verify staff. A manager can register an employee, or employees can register their own faces through the mobile app (with approval).
Leading anti-fraud features mean even the types of cameras found in affordable android tablets can be used with confidence.
PIN/Password
If the biometric options are not available, an employee can always sign in at a kiosk using their employee code and password.
QR Code
Using the camera of the kiosk, employees scan the QR code that is generated by the Humanforce Work app. You can learn more about Advanced QR Clocking here.
Mobile App
After downloading the mobile app, you can give employees the ability to do their clocking from the app.
Geo-fencing
Many companies will pair mobile app clocking with geo-fencing, which means that an employee must be in a particular location to start or finish work. A specific radius must be selected on the map, and if the employee is outside that range, they will get an error message when clocking in/out.
Geo-tracking
If employees don't always clock in at the same location, such as a travelling employee, then geo-tracking can be used to see on a map where they clocked in and out. This does not restrict where an employee can clock in or out, but still gives management oversight.
Employee Self-Service
Although this option is typically not preferred as it would be accessible on any device with internet, an employer can bypass kiosks and let their employees clock in/out when they are logged into employee self-service. This option adds a clocking menu when someone logs in to check their roster or request leave.
