Follow this guide to import a previously saved template into Roster Manager. This helps you quickly apply consistent shift patterns across roster periods without rebuilding them manually.
Steps
- In Roster Manager, click the Templates button in the top-right.
- Select Import Template from the dropdown.
- In the Import Template window:
- Search by Template Name
, or use Location and Department filters, then click Apply.
- Sort the list by clicking any column header (e.g. Effective Date or Location).
- Search by Template Name
- Find the relevant template and click Import.
- Review the template details, including:
- Name, Length, Start Day, and Included Locations/Departments
- Whether it is a Master template
- Select the Import start date.
- (Optional) Tick Include shifts with errors to allow invalid shifts to be added.
- Click Import.
- If your chosen start date doesn’t match the template’s original start day, a warning will appear.
- Click OK to proceed or Cancel to choose a new date.
Once imported, the shifts will be added to your current roster from the selected date.
Additional information
- Imported shifts will not replace any existing shifts in the roster.
- Only templates marked as Active and within your access permissions will be visible.
- Use the Include shifts with errors option with caution. See Resolve shift alerts in Template Manager.
Importing shifts with errors may result in compliance or payroll issues. Always review the template before proceeding. - Templates created in Template Manager appear automatically if set as Active.
