Clock-In Settings in Humanforce WFM control how time and attendance data is interpreted, rounded, and authorised automatically. Designed for payroll administrators, compliance managers, and workforce planners, these settings reduce manual approvals and ensure alignment with your business rules, award conditions, and scheduling standards.
Clock-In Settings are most useful in organisations with high-volume time capture where consistent and automated rules for start/end times, breaks, and authorisation thresholds are needed.
To access Clock-In Settings: Go to Admin > System Config > Clock-In Settings.
Capabilities
Shift Options
Manage how clock-in and clock-out data is processed in relation to rostered shift times.
Auto-Authorisation Settings
Configure how shifts are automatically approved based on clock-in/out behaviour.
Auto-Authorisation Mode Choose from two authorisation methods:
-
Exact Times: Compares clocked start and end times to rostered times.
-
Auto-authorises if within the following thresholds:
-
Start Early – X mins
-
Start Late – X mins
-
Finish Early – X mins
-
Finish Late – X mins
-
-
Outside these thresholds, the shift requires manual review and uses rounding rules.
-
-
Shift Duration: Compares total shift length to rostered duration.
-
Auto-authorises if within:
-
Duration Under – X mins
-
Duration Over – X mins
-
-
Adjust shift time on auto-authorise
-
Adjust shift start time to roster start time on Auto-Authorise: Shifts approved under the thresholds will have their start time aligned to the rostered start.
-
Adjust shift end time to roster end time on Auto-Authorise: Shifts approved under the thresholds will have their end time aligned to the rostered end.
Rounding Rules
Set how start and end times are adjusted:

Additional Options

-
Enable Shift Allocation Screen: Employees are prompted to allocate time to different departments at clock-out.

Restrict to Hours Worked: Limits allocation to the actual clocked-in period.
