Confirm your region settings by going to Admin > Regions.
If your region (usually by state) observes Daylight Savings, tick the box to Enable Daylight Savings Adjustments.
This will then automatically check the time zone when clocking out. Based on whether the clocks turn forward or backward, the timesheet will be adjusted by one hour accordingly to account for actual time worked, as opposed to simply using the end time as recorded.
For example, there is a rostered shift from 9pm to 5am. This shift would normally pay 8 hours. Due to daylight savings, clocks move forward during this shift. With this adjustment on, when the employee clocks out, the system will see that the time zone has changed, and subtract an hour. This shift will pay the 7 hours actually worked. If you wish to pay 8 hours for this shift, the setting would need to be turned off.
When the clocks go backwards, an employee will work 2AM - 3AM twice. With this adjustment on, the system will recognise this change, and add an hour. This shift will then pay the 9 hours worked.
Please ensure that you understand how this setting relates to how you pay daylight savings changes. The correct solution for your environment may involve having this adjustment on for one change and off for the other. If you are unsure, please log a support ticket with details on how you would like these shifts paid, both when the clock go forwards and backwards.
As this adjustment is done when the employee clocks out this setting needs to be setup correctly before daylight savings changes.
