Updated System Requirements for the HFLS Software Component
On 27th April 2022, Version 5.0.7 of the Humanforce web application was released to the cloud environment. In this version, the HFLS software component was upgraded to target the .NET Framework 4.8 runtime. This affects kiosks and computer terminals that connect via USB to either the Hitachi Vein Scanner device or a Zebra Wrist Band printer.
The Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 is automatically included in Windows 11, and in all versions of Windows 10 release since May 2019. If your kiosk terminals are up to date, no action is required.
However, if you are running an older version of Windows on your kiosks, you may need to install the .NET Framework 4.8 runtime on these devices if it is not installed already.
Is any action required?
If you are already running version 5.0.7 (or later) of the Humanforce web application, and if you notice no changes in the appearance or behaviour of the login screen on your kiosk terminals, then your kiosks already had .NET 4.8 installed and the software updated itself automatically.
If you are running Humanforce version 5.0.7 or later, and if you see a warning message on the login page of any of your kiosk terminals, those terminals require attention.

Instructions
To install the .NET Framework 4.8, download the installer package from one of the following links.
Offline installer (118 MB). This is the recommended installer to use because it does not require internet access during the installation, and it allows the installation to proceed more quickly on the kiosk since it is not limited by the speed of the kiosk’s internet connection.

Online installer (1.4 MB). Use this file if your kiosk(s) have a stable and fast internet connection.

Download one of the installer files above and transfer it to a convenient location the kiosk, E.g., on the desktop.
Double click the file to run it.
Note: You will need administrator access on the kiosk to proceed with the installation. Please log a ticket with support for your Kiosk details.
Click the Install button.
Wait for the installation to complete.
You should see a message confirming the installation was successful.
Click the Finish button.
You may be prompted to restart the machine. If so, click the Restart Now button.
After restarting, open the Humanforce login page in the browser.
If the HFLS upgrade failure warning message is still visible, click the link to re-attempt the HFLS upgrade.
Wait for the HFLS upgrade to be run.
If all goes well the warning message should no longer be visible and the kiosk should be operating as normal.
If the message is still present then there may have been a problem with the installation of .NET 4.8, or there could be another issue preventing the HFLS upgrade. In this case please contact Humanforce support for further assistance.
