Using the Apple Safari Browser and the Guided Access settings on an iPad you can setup the Humanforce Kiosk in full-screen mode and lock out all other access.
- Create a shortcut on the home screen to the Kiosk website
- Set the device as a Kiosk
- Locking the device to the Kiosk App only
Create a shortcut on the home screen to the Kiosk website
- First, launch the Safari browser from the home screen and go to the kiosk webpage e.g. https://yourcompanydomain.humanforce.com
- After loading the kiosk webpage, tap the Share button at the top of your screen.
- In the drop-down menu, tap the Add to Home Screen option
- In the Add to Home window, you can give the new icon a title on the home screen of your iPad. When you’re done, tap on the Add button.
- The new icon should now appear on your home screen. Tapping on the icon will open the webpage in full-screen mode.
Set the device as a Kiosk
When launching the Kiosk from the icon on the home screen, the Kiosk screen should load. If instead you are getting the Humanforce Login screen you will be required to set Humanforce to recognise the device as a Kiosk following the steps below.
- Login to Humanforce on the kiosk that you want to configure
- Select the Admin > System > Override current location settings
- Select the desired location from the drop-down menu that matches the kiosk device, and click Apply.
- Logout
Lock the device to the Kiosk App only
