How do I setup kiosk on an Android Tablet?

Using the Google Chrome Browser and Android Screen Pinning settings on a tablet you can setup the Humanforce Kiosk in full-screen mode and lock out all other access.

1. Create a shortcut on the home screen to the Kiosk website
2. Enable Screen Pinning
3. Pin the screen
4. Set the device as a Kiosk

Create a shortcut on the home screen to the Kiosk website

1. First, launch the Chrome browser from the home screen and go to the kiosk webpage e.g. https://yourcompanydomain.humanforce.com
2. After loading the kiosk webpage, tap the Menu button at the top of your screen.
3. In the slide-out panel select Add to Home Screen
4. Enter a name and select Add
5. The new icon should now appear on your home screen. Tapping on the icon will open the webpage in full-screen mode.

Enable Screen Pinning

1. Settings > Security or Biometrics and Security > Other security settings > Pin windows
2. Toggle on Pin windows setting
3. Toggle on Ask for password before unlocking

Pin the screen

1. Open the kiosk shortcut from the home screen
2. Tap the recents button
3. Tap the icon above the app > Pin this app

Set the device as a Kiosk

When launching the Kiosk from the icon on the home screen, the Kiosk screen should load. If instead you are getting the Humanforce Login screen you will be required to set Humanforce to recognise the device as a Kiosk following the steps below.

1. Login to Humanforce on the kiosk that you want to configure
2. Select the Admin > System > Override current location settings
3. Select the desired location from the drop-down menu that matches the kiosk device, and click Apply.
4. Logout
