The Web Kiosk Split Timesheet feature allows employees to split their timesheet at the time of Clocking Out and - where permissions allow - to adjust the Start and End times of their clocked timesheet to allocate the worked hours across multiple timesheets. This feature was previously known as Shift Allocation and only available in the Back Office Kiosk.
This feature uses the same Split Timesheet functionality found in the Timesheet Admin screen.
Note: An employee-facing article on this function is available here
Function Enablement
- For the Split Timesheet page to be displayed to the employee after clocking out, the employee's Enable Shift Allocation setting must be enabled in the Clock In Settings>Shift Options tab.
- To allow the employee to change the Start Time and End Time of the timesheet, the Restrict to hours worked setting must be disabled.
Employee Flow
- Employee clicks ‘Clock Out’ in the Web Kiosk 'Clocking' screen.
- The Split Timesheet page is presented (where the Enable Shift Allocation Clock in Setting is enabled).
- The employee can then edit the Start time/End time fields on the Split Timesheet page (where the Clock In Setting Restrict to hours worked is enabled).
- Changing the Start Time or End Time will increase or reduce the duration of the timesheet to be split as appropriate
- Each time the Start Time or End Time are changed, the split sections will refresh, so any changes already made will be reverted. Therefore best practice would be to change the Start/End Times first before proceeding with the next steps.
- The employee can then enter the number of splits required and make changes to the shift details as required. More information on this can be found on the Splitting Timesheets page.
- Upon clicking Save, all timesheets will be saved.
- Alternatively, employee can click the Cancel button to revert all the changes and close the page. The user will not be able to return to the Split Timesheet page after clicking either Cancel or Save.
- As normal, where the System Setting auto-log out configuration is active, the employee will be automatically logged out after Cancel or Save, otherwise the user must log out manually as normal.
